Default Prince of Wales socialized with Canadian soldiers

Of interest, the war diaries of the 6th Brigade CFA documented meeting with the Prince of Wales in Bonn, Germany 1919. Excerpts from the diaries:

Jan 07, 1919- A dance was given at Berlinghoven Chateau by the 5th C.I.B. and the C.O. and the B.C.ís of our Brigade were invited. Nurses from CCS #1 and #2 came and during the evening the Prince of Wales who arrived in Bonn from Cologne drove out, and stayed till midnight. All officers met His Royal Highness and speak enthusiastically of his democratic and manly attitude.

Jan 09, 1919- Lieut. M.Jacob M.C. MM returned from hospital. All available personnel of Batteries and H.Q. attended CII concert party show at Stadt Theatre Bonn. Transportation was arranged for 15, 16, & 22nd Batteries. About 500 all ranks went and very much enjoyed the show. A special feature was the attendance of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and most of the Canadian Corps and 2nd Div. Staff. The Prince joined in the menís songs between acts and created a most favourable impression.
